Glad you liked . The school name was always Torrance, and there's actually a town in California a little south of L.A. called Torrance. It wasn't too hard to find. I guess they cover the 'Torrance High School' with 'Sunnydale High School'.

That's it's real name. They just put the Sunnydale sign up for shooting Buffy. In She's All That it's another name.

You know it was so overwhelming I still don't think it's hit me that I was actually *there*. It was really awesome though. The school looks a lot different then you might think too. There's entire parts of the school that were never used on the show.

I totally sat on all the benches in the front of the school though, cuz I had to make sure I sat in the same spot as SMG. I'm weird, huh??

Kat - Actually only the exterior of Torrance was used for Sunnydale High. The interior of the school on the show was actually at the Buffy warehouses in Santa Monica. I think there are only a few seldom occasions that they used the inside of Torrance High for the show.

Ah well, never mind! Still one day, I'll go there! Heh!
Where abouts exactly in CA is this High School, 'cos my Dad might know where it is, he lived in CA for 5 years.

If I remember correctly it's maybe a half hour south of Los Angeles. Any L.A. map should show you Torrance.

jojo - I know what you mean. We pretty much walked around everywhere that we could when we went. Got pics of their benches, the staircase, etc. It was really weird being there after so much had been shot there. Now I'm getting nostalgic...

Do you live near to Torrance, or did you have a fair way to go?
I bet you were really syked about seeing the school, I mean just to actually be able to stand on the grounds of the school.
Were there any kids around when you visited, if so did it remind you of Buffy at all, like little bits or whatever?

Kat - I live in Toronto, I was just in L.A. visiting. And yeah, I was pretty much freakin out when we found the school. I wasn't even sure if we were going to find it, because I wasn't 100% sure about the name. When we turned on the street....I totally screamed my head off. lol

I visited that school last year. I live half an hour away. Like jojo said, the inside part is different from what we saw in BTVS. I was hoping to see the library we all know and love; but it was a different library.

They shot it at a couple of different high schools, but I'm positive Torrance was one of them.

I finally got there myself this year (and hey, I'm in Toronto, too!) and it was just the strangest thing...when I walked around the corner and saw the stairs, I couldn't breathe. I've been watching my DVDs since I got home looking at how they shot things and how they look on the show vs. how they look in real life. It's very strange, for sure...

I've been watching since the high school years, but back then no one wanted to take me. So I never went.

I posted a topic on this when I visited the school a few weeks ago for the new TV show "Skin." It's crazy how on "Buffy" and in those photos, the school looks normal size. But when I was there, it seemed so tiny:) It's a really nice looking school. In the front, on the other side of the little parking lot, there's a main street with lots of traffic, so I was thinking that people see the school everyday and I'm sure they're tired of it, hehe. But it totally blew me away.
