need help: i'm from israel and the israeli charmed fans started a war against buffy fans in the poll of some israeli tv site. they want charmed to win and to show the site and all that buffy is not the only show in the world. well i say-IT IS! we need your help! so go to this site (in hebrew): www.tve.co.il and vote the number 4 answer-it's about spike (charmed is number 7 in the poll). the poll is in the right side, no need to know hebrew. please, it's very important, we can't let them win, they also cheat! they want to show that buffy is not any better and they're wrong! go vote!! you don't have to read hebrew, just look for the poll in the right side (main page) and vote the 4th one. it's turning personal.

the television award (of israel) is coming up soon, and we want buffy to win so badly. all you have to do is spend little bit money (phone) and some time. you call: (972) 57-777999 (i hope) it will call you to israel and all you have to do is wait until it says the number #18 category: best dramatic series. there are 60 nominees in this category so hard to win. you don't have to vote for everything, just for buffy. you wait until it stop talking and you press # in the phone until it takes you to the number 18 category. after it stop talking press 7, it's buffy. then there is only one more category after this one. press # on this as well. (19). now you will have to press your phone number. just peek one, no matter. something like: 08-657821 this is the kind of phone number in israel. then you will have to press your id number (there are 9 number in the id number) and your age. just wait until it stop talking then you will know you should press.
or if you would like something easier: press the number 7 for all categories until it ends, and asking you like this (in hebrew): bechedey leasher et aatzbaa akesh et mispar a telephone shelcha (can't remember exactly) then your id number and age. and THAT'S IT. put down the phone.

I like BOTH shows. I hate these fan based wars.. the quality of the show is irrelevent while people battle it out.

Can`t understand why some fans think that to prove your a huge fan of a show, you have to hate others.

I've never watched Charmed so I can't judge. I just voted for Buffy because I love it- not to participate in a war or anything.

Personally... of the two, I think Buffy is the stronger show. But Charmed is great, just more lighthearted. They`re not as alike as people like to think.

With Buffy fans, I`ve noticed that as well as Charmed, they like to slate Alias and Dark Angel.

Same here I have never seen one episode of Charmed so I can't judge but what the hell I'll vote Buffy

I voted, and I also want to state that these fan based wars are pathetic and in no way at all do they help either show involved. Charmed is a great show although I have to admit, I watch it less frequently since Shannen Doherty (Prue) left. Buffy is fantastic (obviously) and I voted simply because I have been a buffy fan longer than I have been a charmed fan.

That is exactly how I feel, I watch both shows all the time and yes I like Buffy more but there's no need to start these idiotic wars. Just because say.. Buffy or Charmed is your favorite show, doesn't mean you have to shun other shows and argue over which is better, everyone has their own opinons.

I like both Buffy and Charmed - but Buffy is the more popular show. That's why it's on Channel 2 here and Charmed is clinging to Channel 5 (Unpopular channel) with things like Dark Angel and Alias.

come on, charmed is so B grade. the acting is terrible, the story lines kinda suck eg, Phobe and cole= buffy and angel! buffy is original and the best

let me axplain ya something, the full version:

there are 2 forums, of for buffy one for charmed, ok? now usually, the polls in this site (www.tve.co.il) are totally innocent and not a big deal. but then something came up and the forum of charmed decided do not let buffy win. (the poll is about the coolest place, and the grave of spike is buffy's and the charmed house is the charmed's, just a simple poll). they wanted to prove that buffy is not the only show in the world, just because the site is focusing more on buffy and less on charmed. so they said something like: now is a war. we have the chance to show....", etc. buffy's forum heard about this notification and decided they won't let them slander their favorite show. so they decided to fight back, and harder when heard about they cheating (deleting the info from the computer so they could vote again and again). well, it's not fair. the point is, they started. innocent poll became some fight because they wanted to be better. well, charmed is not better (and it's a fact), and even they know that, they're afraid 'cause they know they can't win without cheating.
i'm sorry it got to show fight. but i don't know about you, but i hate when someone say bad things about buffy. we all know there was always a fight between the fans of the two shows. and we're usually live in peace. but when they start going to a war against us, we have to protect ourself.

another thing. i like charmed, even though i saw only some episodes. but i'm not a fan. i'm a buffy fan. i like watching charmed and all and usually i have nothing against this show. but when they start with buffy, they start with the fans too. and they know buffy fans are strong. and they're afraid. all we want to do is to protect ourselves. i prefer fight back and protect my show than let them ###### on it.

i hope you got my point and what's the story for real. they said bad things about buffy, they asked the war, which by the way, they called.

Angel - I *love* ur avatar - but Charmed isn't that different from BTVS and AtS. Virginnia, Wesley's girlfriend, was a demon in one I saw, there was a killer called DARLA and I've cry everytime the mum is mentioned - which I don't at Buffy. You can like more than one show

True - the special effects aren't as good as Buffy's. I assume due to budget. But the idea is good, as are their powers.

Whoever asked what season Charmed is on, its 5th season starts tonight on the WB.

I'm not voting because I love both these shows. I agree with B_A's comments 100%. The shows are not the same, yeah maybe some storyline mimick each other but its not the same.

Well said! *claps* I agree. I love both shows! Although I must say after seeing the Charmed commercials for the premiere tonight (2 hours! YAAAAY!!) that their stylists should get some sort of award. I haven't seen sequins placed that well since Lil Kim at the VMAs a few years ago!

i used to watch charmed all the time but its not as good as buffy is.
since sahnnon left i dont watched it much. but i may watch this mermaid one it looks pretty good. i dont like how they wrote the show when they repalced prue.

Well not to get TOO off-topic, but yes, Charmed has gone downhill since Shannen Doherty left. Or well, was kicked out, lol. Whatever happened there. Rose is doing a fine job but she just isn't Shannen. Obviously. Unless her name would be Shannen Doherty and not Rose McGowan. Ok I'll stop talking now.

True all the way here, BtVS & "Charmed" are not alike at all. If "Buffy" fans slate "Alias" that would hold to the feeling that to show favor for one show means that you must diss others, as "Alias" , which is an excellent program i m o,has even less in common with "Buffy" than "Charmed" does.

I believe Alias, Charmed, and Dark Angel all have similarities with Buffy, but they are all different and each bring something new and different to the table.

In actual fact, if you watch Charmed`s `Brain Drain`.... you`ll find it`s almost IDENTICAL to `Normal Again (demon works mojo and convinces Piper she`s a nutter under dillusions of being a witch.. etc) and it was on BEFORE `Normal Again`. So it all works both ways.

A lot of Charmed episodes have things in common with Buffy episodes. There is 'Brain Drain' as someone already mentioned, another episode where all their nightmares come true ('Nightmares'), countless Halloween episodes, and the next episode looks fairly similar to 'Gingerbread' where the fairy tales come true. Afterall it IS called "Charmed-The Fairy Tale" or something like that...

I like both shows, but I do like Buffy more, so I'm going to vote right now.
