I really hope this is not the case, but I think Angel will close up shop as well at the end of this season.

I don't know... it's been kind of weird. I always figured that Buffy would end this year but I never really thought about Angel. For some reason, I don't think it will end.

I am hoping that Angel comes back, they still have more stories to tell. And I would love to see Buffy on Angel again.
All the stress of Buffy ending has been giving me headaches. I think I'm going to get some rest now and hopefully have some sweet dreams about Buffy.

I've convinced myself it's coming back, so until I hear Official Reports that it isn't, in my mind it is. I don't even want to think about it ending...I want one more year, then towards the end of that season I'll see if I think it needs to end or go another.

I don't know...it sure doesn't seem to be looking to good. With Joss' statement in the EW article about re-tooling Angel & presenting it to the WB to see if they get excited enough for a new season and recent comments from the WB president...which at the moment can't remember exactly but I took it to mean Angel is iffy for next season...just doesn't seem to be a positive for a 5th season

Hmm, I think if they lose either David or Charisma, they will close. Buffy will die, but it has enough characters in my opinion for a spinoff, not that Angel doesn't have good characters.

The show doesn't need Charisma, if they lose David then yeah but it can go on without Charisma.. I don't think they would close up shop but anyways, her contract is for one more season.

well, it's not looking very promising, but i don't think it will be. IMHO, if charisma leaves, they should end the show..i mean, for me, as much as i LOVE david, he doesn't quite carry the show in the same way as sarah carries buffy. i mean, if this were BtVS, and alyson left, i could see the show going on...
but with AtS, if the only other 'original' left, i'd pretty much consider the show over..
i don't know why i feel like that, but i do.

but no, i don't think it will end. i think the WB will pick it up...

Just some food for thought Jamie Kellner is returning to the WB, he is the one that let Buffy get away. In any case i think its 60/40 in favor of no. Lone Ranger did really well when it replaced Angel scored a 4.8 I think and they have a ton of shows ready for next season and very limited timeslots. At this point it could go either way.

Don't hate me for saying this guys, but I want it to be the final season of Angel. I want everything to be concluded at the same time, and to have a great resolution in both areas of the Buffyverse. It's for the same reason that I don't want a spinoff either....
But I know lots of people feel differently, and I can understand why people want AtS to come back.
I don't know. I wasn't optimistic about Angel's chances of coming back. I think it's possible they could take the safe route and stick with Angel's fairly low but nevertheless steady numbers. Like I said, I'm really unsure though.

Angel never interested me nearly as much as Buffy did. Even if Angel continues, I won't be watching unless I hear one of two things: one of the current Buffy cast members becomes a regular on Angel, or one of the current Buffy cast members makes a guest appearance on Angel.

i'm with you guys. i want this to be the final season of angel. i've grown to love this show (it has a 50-50 chance of being better than buffy, IMHO, week after week), but when it's all said and done, nothing really compares to buffy, and i want this whole buffy thing to end all at once, you know?
but i don't think it will be the end of the show....
question: how many episodes of lone ranger have been aired?

Mar 2 2003, 10:15 AM
Angel has to come back, no questions asked. I'm sorry, but if there's no Buffy, and a spin-off doesn't happen, it's all I'll have left. But... it would be kind of odd if Buffy's "world" blew up or something, but Angel had another season anyway... Right?

Yeah, I think Angel will be back in the fall. It's the only show left that's not going off the air. My favorite shows Buffy, and Dawson's Creek are going off the air in May. And it sucks. Angel's the only show left that hopefully won't end in May.

EW scansBut here's the quote from Joss that I was taking about:

Hmmm...well that could turn out good for the show, if The WB sees change, maybe they'll like it enough to keep...who knows.. Gah, I just hope that if it is the last season, The WB tells them in enough time to actually make it a series finale, instead of a season finale that's unsure if it's going to return...But I think it will return..

Yeah, I started watching in season 3, and I got hooked after that. The storylines are really good.
Anf the fight scenes are always great. Very 'Matrix'.
But, i still haven't got to see season 1 & 2 of Angel.
