Just been bugging me.

well according to one of the episodes in the 5th season (cant remember the name) her name is Anya Christine Emanuella Jenkins or sum thig like that

The authors of the Buffy yearbook and Watchers Guide listed Anya's last name as Emerson, but was never listed as such on the show, nor in any scripts.

In the episode Checkpoint, when she was listing her made up names, she says "Jenkins." She says the same name in "Selfless" during her song. Those were the only mentions of her even having a last name.

Jenkins is her surname.

Please can we have no S7 Spoilers though!

I remember there was a long discussion on it before...I go by Jenkins. I think Nathan will know.

Maybe they forgot that they gave her a last name, and just gave her a new one instead.

I think so in Checkpoint she said her last name was Jenkins..b/c she was bortn on 4th of July, yada yada, jokes..full name Anya Christina Emanuella Jenkins..I think that's what she said in Checkpoint, but I am for sure she said Jenkins..maybe Emerson was just her name in HS?

I hate this question too. I don't think we'll ever get an actual answer. The ony way that we would have is if they went through with the wedding and actually said, "Do you, Anya _________, take Xander Harris....." But they didn't. It seems to me that outside of the Buffyverse, it is Emerson. But in the Buffyverse, it's Jenkins. I think you can go by any of the two....I now go by Jenkins myself, but thats just me.

Oh, and everybody *protesting* that it is without a doubt her last name....I think you missed the "Ms. Anya Lame-Ass, Made-Up, Maiden Name....Harris" part of that little diddy. (sorry for the semi-spoiler...but it needed to be said.)

In the show they have said it was Jenkins. She said it in Checkpoint. I have heard that she subsequantly says it as well.

The books are obviously not that trustworthy. If her name was Anya Emerson, why lie about it in Checkpoint?
