What is your favorite line from Buffy? I have so many! But one of my faves would have to be from Becoming Part 1. When Whistler says this:

Bottom line is, even if you see 'em coming, you're not ready
for the big moments.
No one asks for their life to change, not really. But it does.
So what are we, helpless? Puppets? No. The big moments are
gonna come. You can't help that. It's what you do afterwards that counts. That's when you find out who you are.

I also have this listed as my signature rolleyes.gif

man, there is just too many. here's one of my favorites its Buffy's Chosen's speech:
So here's the part where you make a choice: What if you could have that power...now? In every generation, one slayer is born... because a bunch of men who died thousands of years ago made up that rule. They were powerful men. This woman (points to Willow) is more powerful than all of them combined. (Willow whimpers) So I say we change the rule. I say my power. should be our power. Tomorrow, Willow will use the essence of the scythe to change our destiny. From now on, every girl in the world who might be a slayer... will be a slayer. Every girl who could have the power...will have the power... cant stand up...will stand up. Slayers... everyone of us. So make your choice. Are you ready to be strong?

Buffy's talk with Jonathan in the tower in "Earshot",

You know what? I was wrong. You are an idiot. My life happens to, on occasion, suck beyond the telling of it. Sometimes more than I can handle. And it's not just mine. Every single person down there is ignoring your pain because they're too busy with their own.
Jonathan lowers the rifle more. Buffy steps toward the window. She looks down at the Quad below.

There really are a lot. I'm gonna go with this one:

I'm gonna be a fireman when the
floods roll back. There's trees in

I don't sleep on a bed of bones. Now

Ah yes, one of my top 5 eps. The best part of that speech though, was:

Like MikeyGS, I thought this was wonderful:

BUFFY: I walk. I talk. I shop, I sneeze,
I'm gonna be a fireman when the
floods roll back. There's trees in
the desert since you moved out, and
I don't sleep on a bed of bones. Now

And I think Buffy's speech to Spike at the end of Afterlife was beautifully written. Perfect.
Spiral_Stare
these are sad ones sad.gif

Faith: You think you matter, you think you're part of something... and you get dumped. And it's like the whole world is moving, and you're stuck. Like those animals in the tar pits. It's like you keep sinking a little deeper every day, and no one even sees.

Buffy: I was happy. Wherever I was, I was happy, at peace. I knew that everyone I cared about was all right. I knew it. Time didn't mean anything. Nothing had form, but I was still me, you know? And I was warm, and I was loved, and I was finished. Complete. I don't understand about theology or dimensions, or any of it really... but I think I was in heaven. And now I'm not. I was torn out of there. Pulled out by my friends. Everything here is hard, and bright, and violent. Everything I feel, everything I touch... this is Hell. Just getting through the next moment, and the one after that... knowing what I've lost...
Caritas
If we're going by speeches, the one at the end of Bring On the Night is one of my favourites. If only for the fierceness in her eyes and the huskiness of her voice. cool.gif
Spiral_Stare
and a very very sweet one wub.gif

Kennedy: The fun part is the process of getting to know a girl. It's like flirting in code. It's using body language and laughing at the right jokes, and looking into her eyes and knowing she's still whispering to you - even when she's not saying a word. And that sense that if you can just touch her, just once, everything will be okay for both of you. That's how you can tell... or if she's really hot, you just get her drunk and see if she comes on to you.

There are really too many but my favourite one is probably when Xander is talking to coma Willow in Becoming Part 2.

This might not be 100% accurate but:

'You've gotta wake up Will, how am I gonna pass trig? who am I gonna call at night, and talk about what we did all day? I love you'.

Always get a little tear in my eye when I see this bit.

I cried for hours after this speach.... it ws Spike talking to Buffy in "Touched"

You listen to me. (kneels in front of her) I've been alive a bit longer than you, and dead a lot longer than that. I've seen things you couldn't imagine, and done things I prefer you didn't. I don't exactly have a reputation for being a thinker. I follow my blood, which doesn't exactly rush in the direction of my brain. So I make a lot of mistakes, a lot of wrong bloody calls. (looks into her eyes) A 100+ years, and there's only one thing I've ever been sure of: you. (Buffy looks away; he reaches toward her face) Hey, look at me. I'm not asking you for anything. When I say, "I love you," it's not because I want you or because I can't have you. It has nothing to do with me. (a tear rolls down Buffy's cheek) I love what you are, what you do, how you try. I've seen your kindness and your strength. I've seen the best and the worst of you. And I understand with perfect clarity exactly what you are. You're a hell of a woman. You're the one, Buffy. wub.gif sad.gif smile.gif

The training room talk with Giles in The Gift is one of the most emotional moments in the series for me. It captured her sense of loss, her confusion, her fatigue, and most poignantly, her utter despair at her situation. I don't think SMG sold any other speech better than she sold that one.

BUFFY: I sacrificed Angel to save the world. I loved him *so* much... but I *knew*. What was right. I don't have that any more. I *don't* understand. I don't know how to live in this world, if these are the choices, if everything just gets stripped away. I don't see the point. I just wish... I just wish my mom was here. (starts to walk out) The spirit guide told me that Death is my gift. I guess that means a Slayer really is just a killer after all.

GILES: I think you're wrong about that.

BUFFY: Doesn't matter. If Dawn dies, I'm done with it. I'm quitting.

Thats my favorite speech as well. wub.gif

Spike speech in Afterlife:
"I do remember what I said ... the promise to protect her.. if I'd of done that even if I didn't make it you wouldn't have had to jump. but i want you to know I did save you.. not when it counted of course but after that, everynight after that.. I see it all again I do something faster more clever you know. Dozens of times lots of different ways.. everynight I save you."

Anya in The Body:
"But I don't understand! I don't understand how this all happens, how we go through this. I mean I knew her and then theres just a body, I don't understand why she cna't just get back in it and not be dead.. it's stupid and it's mortal. Xander's crying and not talking and I was having fruit punch and I thought Joyce will never have anymore fruit punch and she never have eggs or yawn or brush her hair not ever and no one will explain why!"

Buffy in The Gift:
"Dawn listen to me.. listen. I love you I will always love you but this is the work I have to do. Tell Giles.. tell Giles I figured it out and I'm okay. And give my love to my friends you have to take care of them now.. you have to take care of eachother. You have to be strong. Dawn the hardest thing in this world is living in it. Be brave. Live. For me."

Xander in Potencial:
"They'll never know how hard it is Dawnie to be the one who isn't Chosen. To live so near the spotlight and never step in it. But I know. I see mire then anybody realizes because nobody's watching me. I saw you tonight, I see you working here today.. your not special. Your extraordinary."

Buffy in Chosen:
"I hate you being here. I hate that you have to be here. I hate that there is evil and that it's growing and I hate that I was chosen to fight it. I wish a whole lot of the time that I hadn't been. I know alot of you wish I hadn't been either. But this isn't about wishes.. this is about choices. I never had one. I was chosen. And I accept that. I'm not asking you to accept anything. I'm asking you to make a choice... beleive that we can beat this evil..not when it comes when it's army is ready, but now. Tommorrow morning I'm opening the seal . I'm going down into the hellmouth and I'm going to finish it once and for all. Right now your asking yourself "What makes this any different.. what makes us anymore then a bunch of girls getting picked off 1 by 1?" You're right none of you have the power Faith and I have. So heres the part where you make a choice."

Buffy in Never Leave Me:
"Listen to me. Your not alive because of hate or pain. Your alive because I saw you change.. I saw your penence. Be easier wouldn't it.. if it was all an act. But it's not. You faced the monster inside and you fought back. You risked everything to be a better man and you can be.. You may not see it. But I do. I do. I beleive in you Spike."

Spike in Beneath You:
"Buffy shame on you. Why must a man do what he musn't? For her. To be hers. To be the kind of man who would never.. to be the kind of man. And she shall look on him with forgiveness and everyone will forgive and love.. he will be loved. So everything's okay right? Can we rest now? Buffy can we rest?"

Buffy to Spike in Chosen: I love you. wub.gif

Seems like lots of people are quoting this one, and with good reason. It made me cry also, obviously, but it seemed to have even more emotional impact than her final words to Dawn on the tower. (Well, I thought so anyway) Also, how on earth did Sarah manage to stop the tears falling and keep it together when she shot that scene? unsure.gif That, to me, deserves just as much praise in terms of acting ability as an all-out blubfest does.

This is the convo between Buffy and Angel in Amends I love it

Angel: Am I a thing worth saving, huh? (shakes her) Am I a righteous
man? (shakes her) The world wants me gone!

Buffy: (tearfully) What about me? I love you so much... And I tried to
make you go away... I killed you and it didn't help.

She shoves him off of her and gets up.

Buffy: (crying) And I hate it! I hate that it's *so* hard... and that
you can hurt me *so* much. (sobs, then harshly) I know everything that
you did, because you did it to me. Oh, God! I wish that I wished you
dead. I don't. (whispers) I can't.

Angel gets up now, too.

Angel: Buffy, please. Just this once... let me be strong.

Buffy: Strong is fighting! It's hard, and it's painful, and it's every
day. It's what we have to do. And we can do it together.

Angel struggles with himself, knowing she's right.

Buffy: (resolvedly) But if you're too much of a coward for that, then
burn. If I can't convince you that you belong in this world, then I
don't know what can. But do *not* expect me to watch. And *don't* expect
me to mourn for you, because...
Helena
Lonnng list.. wink.gif

Buffy: Me? I'm lost? Look at you, you idiot. Poor Spikey. Can't be a human, can't be a vampire. Where the hell do you fit in? Your job is to kill the slayer. But all you can do is follow me around making moon eyes.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dawn : You wanna know what I'm scared of, Spike? Me. Right now, Glory thinks Tara's the Key. But I'm the Key, Spike. I am. And anything that happens to Tara... is 'cause of me. Your bruises, your limp... that's all me, too. I'm like a lightning rod for pain, and hurt... and everyone around me suffers and dies. I must be something so horrible to cause so much pain and evil.
Spike : Rot.
Dawn : What do you know?
Spike : I'm a vampire. I know something about evil. You're not evil.
Dawn : Maybe I'm not evil. But I don't think I can be good.
Spike : Well, I'm not good, and I'm okay.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Giles : We are not your friends. We are not your way to Buffy. There is no way to Buffy. Clear out of here. And Spike, this thing, get over it.
Spike : I don't know what you mean.
Giles : Yes you do. Move the hell on.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Giles : How did you know it was me?
Buffy : Your eyes. You're the only person in the world that can look that annoyed with me.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Anya and Willow are about to do a spell]
Anya : This isn't gonna get all sexy, is it?
Willow : I'd be shocked.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Angel : You know, I started it. The whole... having a soul thing. Before it was all the 'cool new thing'.
Buffy : Oh my god, are you twelve?
Angel : I'm getting the brush off for Captain Peroxide. It doesn't necessarily bring out the champion in me.
Buffy : You're not getting the brush off. Are you just going to come here and go all Dawson on me everytime I have a boyfriend?
Angel : Aha! Boyfriend!
Buffy : He's not. But he is in my heart.
Angel : That'll end well.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Giles : I'm not supposed to have a private life?
Buffy : No. Because you're very, very old and it's gross.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Buffybot : Oh Spike, devour me.
Spike : Alright.
Buffybot : Spike, I can't help myself. I love you.
Spike : You're mine, Buffy.
Buffybot : Should I start this program over?
Spike : Shh. No programs, don't use that word. Just be Buffy.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Spike : Last night was... God, I'm such a jerk. I can't do this.
Buffy : Spike...
Spike : It was the best night of my life. If you poke fun at me you bloody well better use that 'cause I couldn't bear it. It may not mean that much to you.
Buffy : I just told you it did.
Spike : I know, I hear you say it, but... I've lived for sodding ever, Buffy, I've done everything - I've done things with you I can't spell, but I've never... been close. To anyone, least of all you... Until last night. All I did was hold you, and watch you sleep, and it was the best night of my life. So I'm, yeah. Terrified.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Faith : [trying to convince Giles she's really Buffy in Faith's body] Giles, you turned into a demon, and I knew it was you. Can't you just look into my eyes an be all intuitive?
Giles : How did I turn into a demon?
Faith : Oh, 'cause, uh, Ethan Rayne. And you have a girlfriend named Olivia... and you haven't had a job since we blew up the school... which is valid lifestyle-wise. I mean, it's note like you're a slacker type, but - Oh, oh. When I had psychic power I heard my mom think that you were like a stevedore during sex. Do you want me to continue?
Giles : Actually, I beg you to stop?
Faith : What's a stevedore?

And all of the touching speeches; ie - The Gift, Chosen, etc...

Here's one of my favorite speeches from "The Prom" when Buffy gets the class protector award:

"We're not good friends. Most of us never found the time to get to know you, but that doesn't mean we haven't noticed you. We don't talk about it much, but it's no secret that Sunnydale High isn't really like other high schools. A lot of weird stuff happens here."
Crowd outbursts: Zombies! Hyena people! Snyder! (laughter)
Jonathan: "But, whenever there was a problem or something creepy happened, you seemed to show up and stop it. Most of the people here have been saved by you, or helped by you at one time or another. We're proud to say that the Class of '99 has the lowest mortality rate of any graduating class in Sunnydale history." (applause from the crowd) "And we know at least part of that is because of you. So the senior class, offers its thanks, and gives you, uh, this."
Jonathan produces a multicolored, glittering, miniature umbrella with a small metal plaque attached to the shaft.
Jonathan: It's from all of us, and it has written here, "Buffy Summers, Class Protector."

Also from the same episode:

Xander: Okay, how long does it take you to buy a damn dress?
Cordelia: Xander! I, uh, I'm considering things a little more carefully nowadays. I don't want to get stuck with another dud.
Xander: Well this should work for you. It positively screams nympho.

Xander: You work here?
Cordelia: Yes. Yes, I work here.
Xander: But, uh, why?
Cordelia: I'm trying to buy a dress.
Xander: But don't you already have all the dresses?
Cordelia: I have nothing, okay? No dresses. No cell phone. No car. Everything's been taken away because Daddy made a little mistake on his taxes. For the last twelve years. Satisfied? Are you a happy Xander now? I'm broke. I can't go to any of the colleges that accepted me. And I can't stay home because we no longer have one.
Xander: Uh, wow.
Cordelia: Yeah, neato. Now you can run along and tell all of your friends how Cordy finally got hers. How she has to work part time just to get a lousy prom dress on layaway. And how she has to wear a name tag. Oh, I'm a name tag person. Don't leave that out. The story just wouldn't have the same punch.

From "Lie To Me"

Buffy: Nothing's ever simple anymore. I'm constantly trying to work it
out. Who to love or hate. Who to trust. It's just, like, the more I
know, the more confused I get.

Giles: I believe that's called growing up.

Buffy: I'd like to stop then, okay?

Giles: I know the feeling.

Buffy: Does it ever get easy?

Giles: You mean life?

Buffy: Yeah. Does it get easy?

Giles: What do you want me to say?

Buffy: (looks up at him) Lie to me.

Giles: (considers a moment) Yes, it's terribly simple.

Giles: The good guys are always stalwart and true, the bad guys are
easily distinguished by their pointy horns or black hats, and, uh, we
always defeat them and save the day. No one ever dies, and everybody
lives happily ever after.

Buffy: Liar.

Another line from "The Prom" Buffy and Angel breakup scene sad.gif

Angel: I've been thinking... about our future. And the more I do, the more I feel like us, you and me being together, is unfair to you.
Buffy: Is this about what the Mayor said? Because he was just trying to shake us up.
Angel: He was right.
Buffy: No. No, he wasn't. He's the bad guy.
Angel: You deserve more. You deserve something outside of demons and darkness. You should be with someone who can take you into the light. Someone who can make love to you.
Buffy: I don't care about that.
Angel: You will. And children.
Buffy: Children? Can you say jumping the gun? I kill my goldfish.
Angel: Today. But you have no idea how fast it goes, Buffy. Before you know it, you'll want it all, a normal life.
Buffy: I'll never have a normal life.
Angel: Right, you'll always be a Slayer. But that's all the more reason why you should have a real relationship instead of this, this freak show. (Buffy is stunned.) I didn't mean that.
Buffy: I'm gonna go.
Angel: (grabs her arm) I'm sorry. Buffy, you know how much I love you. It kills me to say this.
Buffy: Then don't. Who are you to tell me what's right for me? You think I haven't thought about this?
Angel: Have you, rationally?
Buffy: No. No, of course not. I'm just some swoony little schoolgirl, right?
Angel: I'm trying to do what's right here, okay? I'm trying to think with my head instead of my heart.
Buffy: Heart? You have a heart? It isn't even beating!
Angel: Don't.
Buffy: Don't what? Don't love you? I'm sorry. You know what? I didn't know that I got a choice in that. I'm never gonna change. I can't change. I want my life to be with you.
Angel: I don't.
Buffy: You don't want to be with me? I can't believe you're breaking up with me.
Angel: It doesn't mean that I don't ...
Buffy: How am I supposed to stay away from you?
Leigh
I love snarky Buffy and snarky Giles in combination. So there are a bunch of scenes in late S3 in particular where their combined snarkiness towards Wesley is just superb.

But from earlier, I love lines like the following from "Gingerbread":

---------
Giles: Uh, wait, wait a minute. Uh... Uh, there is a fringe theory held
by a few folklorists that some regional stories have actual, um, very
literal antecedents.

Buffy: And in some language that's English?
---------
Giles: Of course! Well, it makes sense now.

Buffy: Yeah, it's all falling into place. Of course that place is
nowhere near this place.

---------

And from "Passion":

---------
Giles: Yes, let's not jump to any conclusions.

Buffy: I didn't jump. I took a tiny step, and there conclusions were.
---------

The delivery of each of these lines is hilarious too.

"Lovers Walk"

Spike: (faces them) The last time I looked in on you two, you were
fighting to the death. Now you're back making googly-eyes at each other
like nothing happened. Makes me want to heave. (turns away)

Spike: (faces them) You're *not* friends. You'll never be friends.
You'll be in love till it kills you both. You'll fight, and you'll shag,
and you'll hate each other till it makes you quiver, but you'll never be
friends. (points at his temple) Love isn't brains, children, it's
blood... (clasps his chest) blood screaming inside you to work its will.

Spike: *I* may be love's bitch, but at least *I'm* man enough to admit
it.

Buffy to Spike: I violently dislike you. tongue.gif

Angel: Hey. (stands up) I was wondering when you were coming.

Buffy: I'm not coming back.

Angel just looks at her.

Buffy: We're not friends. We never were. And I can fool Giles, and I
can fool my friends, but I can't fool myself. (shakes her head) Or
Spike, for some reason. What I want from you I can never have. You don't
need me to take care of you anymore. So I'm gonna go.

Angel: I don't accept that.

Buffy: You have to.

Angel: How can...

He takes a step toward her, and she backs away.

Angel: There's gotta be some way we can still see each other.

Buffy: There is: tell me that you don't love me.

Angelus's speech from Passion

Passion.
It lies in all of us.
Sleeping...
...waiting... And though unwanted...
...unbidden... it will stir...
...open its jaws, and howl.
It hurts sometimes more than we can bare.
If we could live without passion, maybe we'd know
some kind of peace. But we would be hollow.
Empty rooms, shuttered and dank...
Without passion, we'd be truly dead.

From "Faith, Hope and Trick":

Faith: God, I could eat a horse. Isn't it crazy how slayin' just always makes you hungry and horny?
Buffy: Well... Sometimes I-I crave a nonfat yoghurt afterwards.

laugh.gif

Ooh, and also:

Willow: Ooh, Scott Hope at eleven o'clock. He likes you. He wanted to ask you out last year, but you weren't ready then. But I think you're ready now, or at least in the state of pre-readiness to make conversation, or-or to do that thing with your mouth that boys like... Oh! I didn't mean the *bad* thing with your mouth, I meant that little half-smile thing that you... You're supposed to stop me when I do that.

I really did love Willow back then *sigh*.

Funny Moments tongue.gif

I can't find a script for Zeppo, but I thought these were funny.

Xander: NOTHING CAN DEFEAT THE PENIS! Sorry to loud, very unscenely.

Xander: How do you girls like my new thing?
Buffy: Is this a penis metaphore? wink.gif

Gingerbread:

Willow: A doodle. I do doodle. You, too. You do
doodle, too.

Tabula Rasa

SPIKE: 'Made with care for Randy.' (looks at Giles angrily) Randy Giles? Why not just call me 'Horny Giles,' or 'Desperate for a Shag Giles'? I knew there was a reason I hated you!

I love in season 2 when Willow and Buffy are talking about Angel, and Xander says stuff about hearing that Angel is doing something wrong gives him a happy. laugh.gif

Also I love the part in the episode where Jenny makes a comment about Buffy and Xander always being in the library and Xander says:

'To read, makes our speaking English good'. laugh.gif
