I remember reading here last year that Sarah will be doing the Japan premiere of The Grudge. Does anyone know when this will be?

The film is released in Japan on February 19th according to the smgfan news page, so the premiere will presumably be sometime during the previous week or so.

THE GRUDGE Japan premiere is scheduled for early February. I've received a tentative schedule and once everything has been finalized, I will post the info.
And to the Jason Behr fans, it doesn't look like he'll be there.

As I've already said, he didn't go to the other premieres because he was working. He has contractual obligations that he cannot get out of just because there is a premiere for one of his wife's movies. Had he flown from NY to LA for that premiere, it's possible he could have caused delays to shooting which can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. In addition, he was at the NY screening of the movie with Sarah because that fitted into his schedule. He attends such events when he is able to. The same applies to Sarah when it comes to events which are important to Freddie. For example, she missed the ceremony in LA for the unveiling of Freddie's Dad's star on the Walk of Fame. She would have wanted to be there, but because of her contractual obligations, she had to be in Europe. If he goes to Japan, it's because he wants to support his wife. If he doesn't, then he clearly has other obligations. It's not for anyone here to judge the decisions they make about such things because nobody here understands the circumstances fully. Some of the details about the shooting of movies etc are recorded facts however. Any further discussion of this issue is in danger of breaking guideline number 1, so let's leave things there. |

Premiere update: The Japan premiere is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb 2nd at 8 pm at the Sunplaza in Nakano. Sarah is scheduled to participate in a Q&A before the movie. For those picture-obsessed people  , images should be coming out early Tuesday morning (Tokyo is 14 hours ahead - EST) from her photo-call and press conference. To the fans in Japan, Sarah will be doing interviews with several local shows including King's Brunch, F2, Sma Station, Zoom in! Super, Morning Satellite, MTV Screen, News Asaichi, Hot Cinema and Toky Joho Tottemo Insight. Some of the interviews will be with Takashi Shimizu. Print interviews include TV Guide, Sankei Shimbun Newspaper, Josei Jishin and Nikkan Gendai Newspaper. Arigato!
