Just received my new Entertainment Weekly and as soon as I saw Sarah's name on the cover I had to scan it and share it all with you guys.

Sure maybe Sarah isn't so mainstream in the sense of a Julia Roberts type of star where your everyday Joe will go out and buy a ticket just to see that star but still there's people out there who will go pay $ to see SMG on the big screen...no matter what she's in.

you know it's weird.. i've been a big fan and never did i think "hey let me go on the message boad. maybe there's people there that can help me with magazines or interviews that i've never seen." and to know that i can help or make someone's day because they don't get EW or whatever magazine it is... it makes me happy. not that it's a huge good deed... but still a good deed. anyway, this is the best place i've joined ever. i have magazines that have sarah and i'll see which ones isn't up here and i'll be scan mode for a while. sharing is always good...

ETA2: First I find out she's a porn star in Southland Tales. Now she's a drug-using porn star. Is anyone else like really excited now or is it just little wierd me?

God. Let's HOPE she doesn't turn into Julia Roberts. *shudder* Reese was a hot commodity for a while...but not so much anymore. I'd rather see Sarah in a hundred films where she's simply an actress (herself) rather than "the next whoever". I'd rather her have staying power and a strong fanbase than have her be the next big thing.

That role in Southland tales is sounding more and more interesting as more details come out

A "drug using porn star" will really be a challenge acting wise for her

I agree also, and have confidence that Sarah will not become a commodity, that she can get bigger & better. She has shown she works on projects she believes in, I will believe that her success will only give her more room to work in.

shes the reason i went to see the grudge scooby-doo 1 and 2 and cruel intentions ikwydls and scream 2 ive seen most of her movies twice in theaters. the only ones i didnt see where HM and SI. but i own both of them cause shes in it....

Also, I kinda like the fact that Sarah isn't totally in the mainstream. She's kinda the fans' little secret, y'know? We know about her and love her, but those who don't are out of the loop, so to speak. I know people know about her, cause she's a movie star, but those who don't go to a movie just to see her (like us) don't know what they're missing...

I know that sounds dumb, but if Sarah was as famous as Julia Roberts or someone like that, her life would be more in the tabloids and stuff than it is now, which I'm sure she wouldn't enjoy.

I'm sure I sound pompous and stupid, so I'm sorry if I offend anyone, I don't mean to...I wish Sarah more success, fame, and exposure than she can imagine and I am very proud of her!

Ya, Southland Tales is such a good move. I totally agree and hope that she isn't the next whoever. There's no shame in going lesser known route like John Cusack and Johnny Depp or the indie route like Sarah Polley. I mean these actors may not be consider as "Bankable" as big stars like Julia Roberts, but they have longevity and choose different and interesting projects...enough to keep them just outside the limelight, but still sought after.

Yes, it is.. It's an outtake from Elle.. promoting SD2, I'm pretty sure. But I meant the source-- where'd the picture COME from.. Where'd they buy it from

It's interesting to see that they say she got $600,000 for "The Grudge" and that now she'll get $2 million plus per movie. To be honest, whether you like them or not, the Scooby movies already turned her into a $2 million plus per movie actress. Money doesn't seem to be a motivating factor for her though, and she desperately wanted to be involved. There's a difference.

We'll probably never know, but I still think she possibly got points on this movie. I'm not talking about an insane amount. But it'd make sense bearing in mind the film was sold on her name almost alone (as far as the cast was concerned), and she did an insane amount of promotion. Taking all of that into account, I'd be pretty shocked if she wasn't getting something more. Not that it really matters, but it's interesting how these things work.

Of course, even if she wasn't getting points, she should certainly be getting a nice bonus bearing in mind how well the film has done anyway...

Well, I would go and see every film Sarah is in even if some are crap, I mean I rented out Simply Irresistable and that was so good. I think after Southlands sarah is gonna make it to A-list status, she definitely deserves it.

It was pretty low for a film of its type...$10 million or so apparently. Which is why her salary wouldn't have been huge (relatively speaking). But we don't know if this is accurate, and we don't know if there were any other sections to her contract which meant she could make more.

Page 2 of the scan was not clear enough for me to read. Can anyone summerize it for me? I think Sarah is a beautiful and very intellegent woman. I dont know much about Southland Tales yet, but does anyone here know where I could find out more about it? I would deeply appreciate it! Thanks!
