I wish I wasn't stuck at work or I'd be working on it right now. I'm telling you though, it's hard to choose. She looks so cute in all of them. Oh yeah, Jason looks cute too.

Well thank you, I appreciate it and will try to get something up by tomorrow or late tonight. Thank you also vivibuff. I refused to ask a question at the panel and now kinda wish I had because of all of the stupid ones.

Speaking of which, I'm going to post a transcript in like....an hour. Nothing will match the vidclips that are going up, so people still have to download those. But since I was having to make copies which meant the video was playing over and over, I figured I may as well transcribe. Am almost done. Am up to a certain couple of members from this board.

Oh so are you gonna hold it against me now? lol Just think about it this way. I wouldn't have been able to take so many gorgeous photos if I had gotten up. Maybe I'm just lazy. Maybe it scared me to talk to her in front of a crowd of 6500...I don't know. Sarah would have been like "Hi Janna" or "Hello to you again" and that definitely would have freaked me out.
I'm just glad that you two asked questions 'cause at least they were good ones, although we all remember and quote the dumb girl that Sarah corrected. lol I'm trying to decide if I feel sorry for that girl or not. She will be remembered.

Janna: what was the question? |
Well I don't know if I should list them now because the moment has passed, but I had written quite a few down...one of which was, "Had the two of you kept in touch or seen each other since you did the episode "Lie to Me"?"
Another... "Sarah, besides the fact that you are quite an amazing dramatic actress, I also think that you are very funny...thinking of many comedic moments and episodes of BtVS and your SNL appearances specifically...would you consider doing a strictly comedic film?"
Another... "I had read that you were cast in a possible upcoming feature called "Romantic Comedy" and was wondering if that is going to happen and if the producers have considered Jack Black as the male lead 'cause that would be hilarious..."

You should have asked that question about Romantic Comedy! I (and I'm sure that everyone else in this board) would have loved to hear her answer to that one.

Here's the transcript. I don't want to see it posted anywhere else. Link to the site here or something.
PART ONE:
[They both smile and wave at the crowd as they come out. Jason pulls out Sarah’s chair for her.]
SMG: Hey everybody. [Crowd wooing, shouting stuff etc] Woo. Thank you guys. I just wanna say before we start that we are really, really excited to be here. I’m actually a little nervous, but we’re just really excited to bring you the film and to be here so thank you guys so much. [IMO, she really did sound and look genuinely nervous at this stage, but managed to get past it pretty quickly]
JB: Thank you for having us.
SMG: Thank you for inviting us.
[Jason rubs Sarah’s back.] Random crowd member: We love you Sarah.
SMG: Thank you. I love all of you.
[Everyone waiting for someone at Comic Con to take charge of things]
SMG: Anyway, we just came here to sit and stare. I can’t see anything. Can you?
Random crowd member: How’s Freddie?
SMG: He’s good. Thank you. He asked about you. How are you?
[Someone shouts something]
SMG: Hi Mom. Is this how it works?
JB: Anyone wanna raise their hand?
SMG: Just start calling out. I think they have this organised…I swear.
Comic Con person: If you wish to ask questions, please raise your hand and we’ll lead you to a microphone. Please step into the isles, take your pictures and then sit back down. No more pictures.
Crowd member: I have a question. First of all, thank you so much for coming out. This is so cool Sarah. My question is, why have you never been here before Sarah?
SMG: You know, it’s an interesting question, and I figured I’d be asked that. So last night…I want you guys to know…a little nervous about this, so I wrote a list. I figured I would give you…sort of David Letterman style…the top 10 reasons why I’ve never been here.
[Crowd laughs]
- So picture it…first season of Buffy I’m asked to come, and then I said “You know what? I’m still waiting for the last of the image guys to return to Marvel.” I mean think about it…does Todd McFarlane really have anything else to do?
- Next year…totally ready to come. Two words: Phantom zone.
JB: That says “tied” [points at her list].
SMG: Yeah, well no this was another reason, and one of them was that I never had a ride before. So if anyone is going back to Los Angeles and has an extra seat for me tonight…
[Many people in the crowd show they’d be more than happy to oblige]
just let me know…
[Someone says something that Sarah and Jason both find amusing. Can’t hear a thing on the tape, but their reaction shows that something was said.]
- Next year I was coming, and then I missed it because I was sitting at home still trying to make sense of the Spider-Man clone story. If anybody wants to help me with that…later too.
- Next year…totally ready to come. And then after “Dark Knight Strikes Again”, I swore I am done with comics. I’m sure I’m not the only one.
- Next year I said I was gonna come and then you know what? I’m gonna wait for the next real issue of Ben Edlund’s Tick comic. And I’m…hey…I’m still waiting….
- Next year I thought, you know what, I am going to hold out for a rematch in the Peter David, Todd McFarlane debate. [Not enough comic geeks in the audience to appreciate this] Apparently I might be the only one waiting for that.
Number two: I was gonna come, but then I thought you know what...I am already married to the world’s biggest comic geek so why do I need to come to San Diego?
And the number one reason why I’ve never been here, is you know what? There just is not enough merchandise with my damn face on it.
And there you have it.
[Big cheers for the non-comic references. And with the others, the portion of the crowd who did get the references could be heard]
JB: I was never asked before.
[People laugh. Sarah rubs his back.]
Crowd member: You guys have both done such great jobs in tv and movies. I was just wondering…what motivates you to take the roles that you do? Is it more the script, or the director, or what makes you take the roles?
SMG: Well I’m just in this film ‘cause Jason Behr is in it.
JB: Apparently I’m in the movie for the same reason. Um, I think to be in Japan…telling the story with the group of people involved. Shimizu who directed the original Ju-On. It was just…it was a lot of different reasons, but I think mainly because of the story…it was very original.
SMG: I think for me also just the excitement of being part of something that’s a first. You know, I was part of a television show that was incredibly groundbreaking. And…
[Big cheers. Sarah claps along]
And that’s really hard, if not impossible to top. So being able to be part of the first Japanese film ever made…remade for American audiences with the original Japanese director is truly a once in a lifetime chance and we both grabbed it and we are now part of history. Or soon to be history. Soon to be…October history.
Crowd member: Hi Sarah.
[Sarah and Jason try to locate the person asking the question]
I just wanna say you’re awesome, and for what it’s worth I watched you on AMC. I thought you were kickass…
[Crowd cheers]
I was wondering if you’re going to do more of that hardcore drama, you know, bitch, kickass stuff that you did as Kendall Hart?
SMG: Come to my home on a Monday morning. You know…I’m just…I’m sorta going where the wind takes me, and it’s something I would love to do and um…hopefully. Hopefully.
Person who asked question: Thank you.
[Sarah and Jason talking to each other about how they can’t see. Jason messes around with the lights making shadows on the wall/partition just behind the table.]
Crowd member: Hi Sarah. Is The Grudge going to be a trilogy?
SMG: Is The Grudge going to be a trilogy? Um, goodness…you know, that’s an interesting question.
Guy who asked question: Well the Japanese version is.
SMG: Well, you know sort of. I don’t know how many of you are familiar with the original Ju-On, but originally Shimizu [some of the crowd acknowledge the original] exactly. Shimizu made them as two straight to video films and they were so successful and underground he got the opportunity to make the first Ju-On. When that was incredibly successful…there was a second. Unfortunately in the original…none of the people made it to the second, so I’m still waiting to find out.
Guy who asked question: That never stopped you on Buffy.
[Crowd extremely amused. Sarah smiling along…]
SMG: I think…I think I mighta...I think I’ve died three times now?
[Scratches head as though counting them up]
JB: She looks good for being dead huh?
[Crowd agree. A couple of people shout out comments that can’t really be heard]
SMG: It’s really good for my ego. Thank you all.
Random crowd member: No problem!!!
Crowd member: Hello Michelle and Jason. I was just wondering…I heard the movie was filmed in Japan, and I was just wondering how you guys adjusted to the different lifestyle over there and the environment…in Japan?
[Sarah and Jason trying to find the guy asking the question amongst the lights. The guy gets their attention and they find him]
JB: Well uh…if you’ve seen the movie “Lost in Translation”…I mean that was pretty much our lives for 3 months. Um…it was a…it was a great experience for us to go out and travel around Tokyo for the time that we were there and to experience the culture. It was just a really beautiful culture.
SMG: I loved it. I sort of loved every aspect of it…both personally and professionally. It was like learning how to make…it was ‘Filmmaking 101”. It was...everything you learned…now throw it out the window and learn new customs. Just a culture so seeped in tradition and history and respect. I just hope…you know…I didn’t embarrass the Americans out there.
Guy who asked question: I just wanted to comment that Jason Behr…you’re honestly one of my inspirations in acting. I saw you in “Rites of Passage” [unsure if that’s what he actually said, but it’s the closest I could get with something that would actually make sense].
JB: Thank you very much.
Guy: …and Roswell….and I just wanted to say that.
Same guy: And I know they’re going to get mad at me for saying this. I know Sarah Michelle Gellar isn’t scheduled to do autographs, but I was wondering if Jason was?
SMG: We have…there’s a…all I will say is that there is a little surprise that I can’t tell anybody about, and I’m not saying it’s an autograph signing session, but there is a surprise…that involves Jason as well. [To Jason]: I’ll just speak for you.
JB: Thank you very much. That’s the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me.
SMG: I told you you were my inspiration yesterday. Didn’t mean as much somehow. [Crowd laugh] That’s all I’m saying.
Crowd member: Hi Sarah. Hi Jason. My name is Ricky, and I wanted to say first of all…thank you…I loved Roswell [Sarah claps]. And Sarah…thank you for 7 amazing years on Buffy. That’s my favourite show of all time [Jason applauds].
SMG: Thank all of you for 7 amazing years. It’s a show that I know in my heart and I think all of you know wouldn’t have existed without the support of the fans as well as the magazines and the internet. I look at it as ‘the little show that could’ and so to be here and to be able to thank everybody for all that support…we made the show for that reason and so thank you.
Same guy: Would either one of you be interested in playing superheroes in movies, and if so, which ones?
SMG: I'm gonna play Sarah Michelle the superhero [does a flying motion with one of her arms].
JB: She does that everyday…
SMG: I’m not a superhero?
JB: You are a superhero.
SMG: Oh yeah…damn straight.
Um, I’d love to play an original superhero. Like, you know…Buffy, when I came into it was an existing character, Daphne was an existing character, and in a sense my character in Ju-On…The Grudge…is also an existing character. I think if I was going to be like a true superhero, I’d love to create one so that all of the comics and the videogames that came after were based on…sort of…an original concept that I got to sort of shape and create versus somebody else’s. Much less expectations that way.
JB: I think if I could be any superhero, it’d probably be my Mom [Sarah rolling eyes and smiling while adjusting microphone] but I don’t think I’d look too good in high heels, so it’s not going to happen.
Sarah, commenting on adjusting her microphone: I’m vertically challenged. It was a little high for me.
Crowd member: Hi Sarah. Hi jason. I just wanna say I love you both…in Buffy, and I loved you in Roswell and I cried when they both ended. But my question is for Sarah. If you were offered another series, what kind of genre would you like it to be?
SMG: You know…that’s difficult. It would be so hard to top the experience that I had. So it would have to be something after a lot of time…and something that was entirely different…because I would never try to recreate something that was pretty much as perfect for me as it was. So I don’t know…it’d have to hit me, and I’d have to say, “That’s the one.”

PART TWO
Crowd member: Hi Sarah and Jason. Sarah you are my all-time favourite actress and I loved you in Buffy. And Jason…you are an amazing actor and were great in Roswell. Sarah and Jason both, but mostly Sarah. Do you ever turn to…
[Crowd giggling]
SMG: I feel like there’s a private joke I missed out there.
Girl: I don’t know…
[Crowd laugh]
Girl: Do you ever turn to any of the characters you’ve ever played to solve any of your problems in everyday life?
[Sarah has a confused look on her face. Crowd making “huh?” noises. Crowd laugh]
SMG: Y..Y..You know they’re not real right?
[Crowd laugh]
I’m sorr…You know what…the answer to that is “yes”. I mean…specifically for me…Buffy was an inspiration…
Girl interrupts: She was for me too. Like…whenever I had a problem…
[Members of crowd shouting “noooooooo”. Unsure what to make of this]
SMG: I hope I did you okay then boy, ‘cause that’s a lot of pressure. No, I, I, I totally hear what you’re saying. For me to play teen years and like early twenties....it’s so hard, and especially being a female. And one of the things that I loved about Buffy was that…she was okay with who she was, and to me that’s the most important lesson you can ever learn…is that it’s okay if you’re not the smartest or the brightest or the most talented or the prettiest, but the most important thing is to be confident with who you are and I think…I know I certainly could take a lot from that. Although my character in ‘Cruel Intentions’…I don’t know how much I learned except how to dress [I think]…..and maybe how to kiss a girl I don’t know. [Think someone may shout something at this point. Not sure] Thank you Paris Hilton what?
Crowd member: Um…just wanted to ask what you guys think of Comic Con? Have you gotten to see anything? Especially you, Sarah. They’ve got a lotta booths around. A lot of you around here.
SMG: [Hits table with fist] Just not damn enough. [laughs] They haven’t let us out of a cage yet actually. I think they’ve been letting us sort of pace until we could come out, so I haven’t had a chance to see anything yet.
Guy: It’s fun. You guys should try it. It’s cool.
SMG: Anything in particular we should look for?
Guy: Uuuuum. You’d quite like the Buffy stuff.
JB: I hear they have the Ju-On DVD out there somewhere. Yeah? Has anyone seen it?
[Some cheers]
Just curious.
SMG: Just asking. I saw it. Did you like it? I saw it…
JB: I thought it was amazing.
SMG: Me too.
JB: But wait until you see The Grudge. Even better.
Crowd member: Hi Sarah. Hi Jason. I’m right here [they spot her]. I just wanna first tell you that I absolutely love you Sarah.
SMG: Thank you…
Girl: The question I wanna ask is in the action in The Grudge was it anywhere close to the action in Buffy?
SMG: You know, in a sense for me it was actually harder… It’s almost harder to not…to look like you don’t know what you’re doing. And I remember one scene in particular…which was just a running scene and I was just racing to get somewhere [gestures to Jason] for him and they kept making me do the scene over and over and over again. I was getting really exhausted, and finally I was like “What am I doing wrong?” They said, “Because you’re running like a superhero, and if you could just like…flap your arms a little more.” [flaps arms around] And they thought the more they kept making me do it, the more tired I would get…maybe like, the lamer I would look…
JB: She didn’t know that Shimizu kept all those outtakes and showed everybody.
SMG: No, but I did know you paid him like 20 bucks to keep me doing it.
JB: Yeah, she knows everything…
[laughs]
SMG: So, it was h…It was definitely physical, and I think one of the things about it too which is Japanese filmmaking is sort of a very different style. American films and, you know…please don’t let it out of this room of a few thousand people, but um…we cheat a lot. You know, I don’t really lift those guys. I’ve got wires, I’ve got stuntmen, I’ve got all sorts of help. And in Japanese films, you just kinda do it. And you know they say, “Go through that glass window,” and it’s like “how do I get through that?” “Well break it first…and then go.” It was very eye opening. I’m not the lazy actor I once was.
[Sarah offers Jason chocolate or something]
Crowd member: I know they’ve been telling you a lot, but you’re my idol. I’ve followed your career for years now and…okay, here’s my question.
SMG: Thank you.
Same woman: How did you get involved in the film…like did you just read the script and were like, “wow, this is great,” or did you think about it a lot, or….?
SMG: Pretty much that. I had come home from Vancouver and a little sort of disillusioned…not reading anything that…to me was really interesting and worthwhile. And I got a phonecall on a Thursday night from a friend of mine that’s actually here…somewhere….I don’t know where, and she said, “I’ve read this script, and you’re gonna love it, but here’s the deal…you have to read it, watch this film tonight ‘cause you’ve gotta go meet tomorrow because you’ve been gone for so long. So mistake number one was watching the original Grudge at 10 o’clock at night in a house by myself. [Crowd respond] Not one of my brighter moments. And I just loved it…I loved visually the shots. I loved the style. I loved the story. And um…I went in and met with them the next day and then I…um stalked Sam Raimi for some time. The restraining order should be lifted anytime soon. So, you know…it was great. And here I am.
Crowd member: Hi Sarah. Hi Jason. Nice to meet you.
JB: Nice to meet you man.
Guy: This question is kind of for both of you. What is your favourite kind of movie and tv show genre to do and why is that?
JB: I still love The Simpsons. I could watch that for the rest of my life.
SMG: Cannot disagree with that one.
JB: I like cartoons. What can I say?
SMG: I think for me…Buffy spoiled me in a sense…just because it’s still hard to find really strong female characters where women can drive and women can really be active. So to me....I would never specifically say it’s one genre, but I just like doing things where women have a say and where women get to be a powerful character Even if they’re the victim, but where they really have three dimensional female characters.
Guy: Thank you.
Crowd member: Hi Sarah. Over here. I have a question. I watched you on Buffy 7 years…and I was wondering what the transition from being tv star to movie star…how that affected you?
SMG: Goodness. Um, I think the first thing was just sort of deep sadness. You know, that’s…that was a huge part of my life. It was the only part of my adult life that I had known was being on that show. So leaving it I think was incredibly sad and emotional, but at the same time it was sort of…it’s that next step and …for me it was a transition I think that Buffy took also which was…leaving something safe and trying something out. Now for me it’s a little bit of freedom. I based all my movie choices for the last 8 years on a two and a half month hiatus, and that basically sort of determined what I did. And now, I get to sit back a little bit and do things because they really interest me or because I think I can learn something or bring something versus because they do shoot in my 2 month hiatus. So that’s pretty much the only change, but I don’t know...I don’t really….I try not to make distinctions between any…film, television, theatre. I love to be a part of the entertainment industry and whatever form that takes I’ll be happy just as long as I can continue to do what I love.
Woman: Thanks.
Crowd member: Um hi. Hi Sarah. Hi Jason. First I wanna say Sarah, I’m so glad you’re here. I’m…I love you on Buffy. You’re the best. We all know that you’ve done like a couple of horror movies. When you film them, do you have like nightmares sometimes? Do you get scared? I’m just curious….
SMG: My main work dreams are the ones I think everyone has like….I forget to get up in the morning. I go to work without any clothing on. Those are…those are my main….
[Calls from the crowd. Sarah laughs]
Gee I didn’t know that was coming. [crowd laughs] This movie in particular…there’s a particular scene where the woman that plays Kayako…who is the same woman from the original films…does this….um, we like to call it “the cockroach crawl”. And it was honestly one of the scariest things I’ve ever seen in my entire life.
JB: Yeah, it’s one of those images that sticks with you.
SMG: One of those ones that’s embedded in your mind…burned there. There are times [to original questioner].
Guy: Thank you.
SMG: Oh, I hear someone in the front row doing that and somebody better stop. There is somebody in the front row doing the “Kayako croak”, which is different than the Kayako cockroach thing.
[Hear Kayako croak really loudly]
It’s not funny.
Crowd member: I’ve been watching the first two films for quite a while now. Like, the past month I’ve been watching them at a friends house. Um, which one did you two think out of the two theatrical films is the scariest? If you’ve seen both of them.
SMG: I think the first one is scarier, but I think the tone of the second one is pretty genius ‘cause the second one is a little more…sort of tongue in cheek. It reminded me...a little more of Scream in that sense almost. A sort of movie within a movie type. But I think…the images were so shocking in the first one because it was the first one and it was when you were introduced. [To Jason] You may disagree with me, but…
JB: No, I’m gonna let you speak…because everything you’re saying is true.
SMG: [She gives Jason a “yeah, sure” look] Yeah…
Guy: So the first one?
SMG: The first one. Imagine after all that I’m like, “no, the second one.” No, the first one.
J: Hi. I just wanna say thank you for coming.
SMG: Thank you for inviting us.
J: You mentioned in an interview that you wanted to be able to go back to Japan…
SMG: I’m sorry. I couldn’t hear you. [Putting arm over eyes to try and see]
J: You mentioned in an interview that you hoped to be able to go back to Japan and carry out the promotional tour for The Grudge entirely in Japanese. How are your Japanese lessons going?
SMG: Not so great. It got a lot harder when I got home man. Speaking Japanese in Japan is a lot easier than trying to learn it in Los Angeles…boy. I’m working on it. I have until March. How about you? How’s your Japanese going?
JB: Same.
SMG: Yeah.
[People in the crowd shout out for her to say something]
SMG: [Says Japanese phrase] The most important words in the Japanese language. “Where is the bathroom?”
JB: [Says Japanese phrase] It means “I wanna drink Japanese…wine?”. [Hard to make out. Said as though he’s waiting for confirmation]
SMG: That’s not really what it means.
N: Hi Sarah. Over here on the left. [Sarah and Jason look around and eventually find who they’re looking for] Konnichiwa Sarah and Jason.
JB: Konnichiwa.
N: My question is; what’s your strongest memory from Japan, and is there anything you learned about Japanese culture that you brought home?

PART THREE
SMG: Jason brought home half of Japan in a suitcase. Just don’t tell the customs officials. The man literally, on the airplane…had more bags than me. You better have some happy relatives with some presents.
N: And everybody from smgfan gives you their love
SMG: Oh…thank you very much…to all of you. [To Jason] What was your strongest memory?
JB: I think Kyoto was probably the best place that we went.
SMG: You know…I think the amazing thing is just the experiences that we all had just collectively as a cast. I mean if you run down the list of things that we did…you’d be surprised to hear that we made a film as well. I mean…he dragged me to sumo, and I can honestly say…
JB: She did not want to go.
SMG: I…can you say “bitched”? I bitched and moaned the whole way going. I did not want to go.
JB: She bitched and moaned the whole way.
SMG: And literally I was the one screaming at the audience…like screaming at the players going “yeah, yeah” [makes cheering gestures]. So, you just learn so much and see so much.
JB: I think both of us pushed each other to kinda explore…um different sections. She brought me places that I probably wouldn’t have gone to, and I dragged her out to sumo and she was the one screaming the loudest. I think the film afforded us the opportunity to not just work on a really genius movie format with a really gifted director, but it allowed us free time to go and explore Japan, and it’s one of the most beautiful cultures and countrysides I’ve ever set foot on. So it was a great experience.
SMG: And the people too. It’s always hard to be a tourist in a place where you don’t speak the language and for me and my personal travelling experiences…it was the most welcomed I’ve ever felt. And everybody was so kind and so helpful and we would go into restaurants where nobody spoke English and we’d be butchering their language to…I mean…oblivion, and instead of being angry at us they were so kind and very patient with us…so…
JB: [To Sarah] Was it to the sumo? We asked a police officer how to get back to the train….
SMG: [in agreement] The sumo
JB: When we were leaving the sumo wrestling arena, and the guy dropped what he was doing, got us a map and then took us by our hand and pointed us in the direction.
SMG: The weird thing is the murder rate went up in those 5 minutes something fierce in Tokyo.
JB: Just a very generous society.
Crowd member: Hey Buffy. How you doing?
SMG: [Gestures to self] Saaarah. [Gestures to Jason] Jaaason and Sarah. [she’s laughing]
Guy: Sarah and Jason. How’re you doing?
JB: Good. How you doing?
Guy: I’m fine. Um, first thing I’m glad you’re here at Comic Con. I think we all are. We all love you two, so decided to give a shoutout there.
SMG: Thank you.
JB: Thank you.
Guy: My first question is…how do you feel like the years on Buffy has helped you in The Grudge…like any training….
JB: Well my years on Buffy…
SMG: How were your years on Buffy?
[Crowd shouts about him being in an episode]
SMG: Yes he is. Um, goodness, I hope I got better. I hope in 8 years I learned something. Everything is preparation for everything you do. You know hopefully you take and you learn. I got the chance to work with some pretty amazing, talented actors who I stole plenty from, and…
JB: I think the second season was probably the strongest. Don’t you agree?
[Crowd laugh]
SMG: Jason, why would you say the second season was the strongest?
JB: ‘Cause I didn’t miss an episode.
SMG: Why didn’t you miss an episode? What did you think in season two, when Buffy slept with Angel...okay...
JB: Mmmhmm. Hot man.
SMG: ...then what happened?
JB: There was a guy who came in. I remember he had a brain tumour.
SMG: A brain tumour?
JB: That guy couldn't act.
SMG: That guy was great.
JB: He was a joke.
SMG: I thought he was good.
JB: I didn’t like him. Boring. One note...
SMG: Whatever happened to him?
JB: I don’t know. [laughs all around] By the way, what was your favourite episode?
SMG: Oh God. Um, my favourite episode was probably “The Prom” actually. I don’t know…there was just something so heartwarming about it and just...
[A couple of people shout out “the musical”]
SMG: Hey, he asked me. [laughs] But um…we did…um…there was this one with the guy with a brain tumour….and, that was one of them. It’s good that we have our own jokes. I don’t think they’re even listening to us anymore.
JB: Yeah…
Crowd member: First I’d like to say I’m one of the Buffy and Angel managers from one of the internet sites in Spain. I wanted to ask you if it’s true that there’s going to be a Buffy and Angel movie?
SMG: A Buffy and Angel movie…that’s actually one I haven’t heard before. Um, you know, the answer to that is that I don’t know what’s going to happen with that. I know there’s been a lot of talk about it. You know, for those of you who don’t know this….there was a Buffy movie originally, and I spent the first two years of my show trying to explain to people “no, no, no, it’s different than the movie. It’s different than the movie”….and part of the reason the movie didn’t work was because Buffy was a story, in my opinion, that needed to be told over a period of time. And it works…to me it worked better when you spent time. And it wasn’t over so neatly. I wish the finale was two hours. It didn’t seem long enough to me. [crowd cheer in agreement] And I would be really fearful of putting all of that heart and all of those characters into two hours because I know that at some point there would be a letdown…whether Xander didn’t get featured enough, or Willow…or whatever it was. And um…if someone came to me and it looked like just the perfect two hours that I thought wouldn’t disappoint…then it would absolutely be something that I would consider, but I haven’t seen that yet. But I am gonna be in the Roswell movie.
[Cheers]
SMG: [To Jason] I forgot to tell you.
Crowd member: Hi Sarah. Over here. I was wondering, I’ve read earlier that you wanted to be a journalist maybe if you weren’t acting, and I was wondering if you were taking any steps to pursue any other career...maybe college or something?
SMG: Is there something you wanna tell me I don’t know? [laughs]
Woman: Noooooo.
SMG: Thanks for the support. Is this something you think I need to consider?
Woman: No, I mean…
SMG :[Fake cries for a few seconds.]
Woman: No, I was just wondering ‘cause you seem like you get bored if you haven’t time off, and you seem like you…you know…go out for whatever you want. You have so many things…so I was just wondering if that was one of them…
SMG: That was a really good save I just want you to know. No, not at this time, but if I’m out of work for too long then…possibly. I don’t know. I definitely learned to document a lot. I know…Jason and I pretty much annoyed everybody on this film with a camera every five seconds. And I think I actually annoyed some photographers earlier today by taking out my camera. It’s still definitely a passion. But um…digital cameras have made it much easier.
Crowd member: Hi guys. I just wanna say that I wrote a research paper that focussed on Buffy and Roswell and I aced it….so thanks.
SMG: Anytime…
JB: What’d you get?
SMG: She aced it. “Aced it” means she got an A.
[everyone laughs]
[Sarah rubs Jason’s arm in a “sorry I was mean” way. Both are smiling.]
Woman: And before I ask my question I just have a request for Jason. If you and Brendan have time, please do commentaries for the Roswell DVDs. I think you guys need to get even with Shiri and Majandra. [people cheer]
JB: Yeah, I heard some rumours about that one.
SMG: I think they did it without you.
JB: Yeah, I think the second ones are coming out soon I guess and I think they did the commentary for that when I was in Japan. But I think they got Shiri and Majandra to come back and do some more. I don’t know what was said, but it’s all lies.
SMG: I don’t know. He does a commentary all the time for me. It’s good you should hear it.
Same woman: I just wanna ask you guys…on such a scary film…what was the morale like between takes, and so you have any funny stories you can share with us from the set?
[Sarah laughing in an “if only you knew” way]
[People shouting for her to tell the crowd what she’s thinking about]
SMG: Morale was good. You know, honestly…it was an amazing experience. And I’m gonna sound repetitive but you had all these people who didn’t speak the same language. And it was the most jovial, and the most fun. I mean I sound like a boring actor reciting a speech, but…[looks to Jason]
JB: Go ahead…
SMG: What? Do you feel differently?
JB: You know…we were trying to learn more about our Japanese counterparts and I think they were trying to learn more about us, and it was, it was just a really amazing experience. So in between takes I’d be trying to learn some sort of Japanese that I would butcher, and they’d correct me. I’d butcher and they’d correct me. Then I’d butcher and they’d leave me alone. And um…the same thing with their English. I mean…I have to say that most of the crew members got really, really good at English, and I just got progressively worse at Japanese. But that was the mood. It was just…sort of like very playful.
SMG: We would all sort of walk around. We had…obviously….Japanese to English…English to Japanese dictionaries. And sometimes we would just all mangle.
JB: Janglish
SMG: Most of the stories…what’s it called “Janglish”?
JB: Janglish
SMG: Janglish…
Member of crowd: Wow…this question can be addressed to both of you. For all fans, are you ever going to work with Josh Wieldon again? I mean you had something for Angel….
SMG: Wait…I’m sorry. Who did she…. Who?
Woman: This can be addressed to either one of you…
SMG: [smiling] If you’ve gotta say his name you’ve gotta say it correctly. Gotta give props…Joss Whedon.
Woman: Josh Wieldon…
[crowd getting really….um….distressed]
SMG: This isn’t going well. Joss Whedon.
Woman: Whedon. Josh Whedon…
[People shouting out “JOSS”]
SMG: [Sarah makes an action like she’s conducting the crowd to say it at the same time. Seems highly amused by the whole thing] All together everybody….
[everybody decides it’s a lost cause]
Woman: Are we ever gonna see you work with him again, either…

PART FOUR
SMG: I didn’t get offered a role in Serenity. Did you?
JB: No. [hard to make out. He says something about phonecalls]
SMG: Maybe you changed your number…
JB: [makes a fake laugh sound]
[Sarah and Jason laugh with each other]
Woman: Just…can the fans look forward to seeing you? I mean I know he’s working with Marvel comics now on The Fantastic X-Men…
[crowd now unamused]
SMG: It’s “The Fantastic Four” and “X-Men”. They’re gonna get you. This crowd's gonna get you. Um, I don’t know. You guys see him tomorrow. Ask him if he’s written anything for either one of us. [laughs continue]
Random person in crowd: We will.
SMG: Thank you. Member of crowd: As any actors know, actors put themselves through a certain character. They put themselves in a certain mindset and like Jodie Foster for Silence of the Lambs said that she would never do a sequel because of just that very thing.
SMG: Me either, I’ll never do a sequel [hits table]. Oh….[smiles]
Guy: Does that affect you in any way when you were putting yourself in that mindset, or did you even…think of it on a level like that?
SMG: I don’t think I…Scooby 2, Scream 2. Was I in Cruel Intentions 2?
JB: I think so…
SMG: No, I wasn’t in that.
JB: Poison Ivy 2?
SMG: I Still Know What You Did….yeah, no I wasn’t in that.
JB: You weren’t in the first one..
SMG: No…I was in Red Dragon. I don’t think I’m qualified to answer that question. Obviously I have no problem. [To Jason] Would you?
JB: Would I do a sequel? I’ve never been asked, so I really couldn’t say.
Sarah and crowd: Awwwwww.
JB: I love you guys.
SMG: That was me “awwwwing” by the way.
JB: I love you.
Comic Con person: Sarah, Jason. We’ve got a last question for the panel for this evening. A gentleman right over here.
Member of crowd: Hi Sarah. Hi Jason. My question is for Jason. I’ve read an internet rumour that you were one of the actors considered for Superman and that you had auditioned for it. Is that true, and how do you feel about playing the character?
JB: Who’s Superman? Never heard of the guy. Um, you know I think that everybody is aware of the fact that they’ve been trying to redo that for a long, long time. You know growing up I always looked at Chris Reeves and thought he was Superman. So, you know…until things happen…they happen. But as of right now I think Chris Reeves will always be Superman in my mind.
SMG: I think if they were smart they’d hire him. If they knew what they were doing. Maybe the movie would get made.
JB: I’ll give you that 20 bucks later.
SMG: No problem.
SMG: Well thank you guys very, very much.
JB: Thank you guys for having us.
SMG: Wait, one more thing. One more thing. Every one of you here better see this damn movie opening weekend and tell all your friends or we’re coming after every one of you here.
[Much cheering and hollering]
Comic Con guy: Ladies and gentleman let’s have a round of applause for Sarah Michelle Gellar and Jason Behr…
[More cheering and hollering]
Again...NO POSTING elsewhere. Thanks.

thank you leigh. you're the best... It's soo cool that you taped it all. and to janna: you're so lucky to have met Sarah as much as you have. And I totally understand you about the pix thing. Small pix is just perfect. But also i know what you mean course people do steal other people's stuff on the net. It's crazy. But to all of you who went, thank you a million times for sharing. It means so much, course who knows i'll probably never meet her so it really helps to hear other people's experiences. And see pictures and so on. TheSMg fans are best and so nice. and yes we do have the best moderators on the net. other boards can be soo crazy. glenn and the hostess well probably laugh at us but it is true, they really have a check on the thinks here.

Leigh, thanks I don't get the comic-jokes. Marvel? Phantom zone ? Spider-Man clone ? Dark Knight Strikes Again ? Ben Edlund’s Tick comic? Peter David, Todd McFarlane?

Leigh you're awesome and you rock and...omg I've just realized how ridiculous half the questions were and how much "'I love you Sarah and Jason' and 'You're my idol' and 'I loved you on btvs/roswell'" were said...The panel should have been two hours maybe the really great questions would have come out then lol.
